Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-13

This Privacy Policy describes how Fargo Woodworks (“we,” “us,” or “our“) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you visit our website, contact us, request a consultation, place an order, receive deliveries, or otherwise interact with us.

Fargo Woodworks is a custom furniture studio based in Fargo, North Dakota, designing and manufacturing residential and commercial furniture for clients throughout the United States.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide to us directly, information collected automatically when you use our site, and information we receive from trusted third-party service providers (such as our payment processor and shipping carriers).

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Contact information — name, company, email address, mailing address, mobile phone number.
  • Order and project information — design specifications, room dimensions, material preferences, finish selections, photos or sketches you share with us, delivery and installation details.
  • Payment information — billing address, last four digits of your card, and the transaction ID. Full card numbers and bank-account details are entered directly with our payment processor (Stripe) and are never stored on our systems.
  • Communications — the content of emails, text messages, phone calls, web chats, contact-form submissions, and any other messages you send us.
  • Consent records — your selections regarding marketing email, SMS messaging, and similar preferences, including the date, time, and method of each opt-in or opt-out.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and browsing information — IP address, device type, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time on page, and similar diagnostic data.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — used to keep the site working, remember preferences, and measure performance. See “Cookies and Tracking Technologies” below.
  • Analytics — aggregated usage data via Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from payment processors (Stripe), shipping carriers, logistics providers, freight claim handlers, and trade-show or referral partners. We use this information only to fulfill your order, deliver your furniture, and provide customer support.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Quote, design, manufacture, and deliver custom furniture you have requested.
  • Process payments, send invoices, and provide order receipts.
  • Respond to inquiries, schedule consultations, and provide customer support.
  • Send you order updates, production milestones, shipping notifications, and delivery confirmations by email and (with your consent) by SMS.
  • Send marketing communications when you have opted in, and honor your preferences if you opt out.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and services.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

3. SMS / Text Messaging Communications

This section describes how we use mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent information. It applies to all SMS communications between Fargo Woodworks and our customers.

3.1 SMS Opt-In Is Voluntary — Not Required For Any Service

Important: Receiving SMS messages from Fargo Woodworks is completely optional. SMS opt-in is NOT required to purchase any product, request a quote, schedule a consultation, place an order, or use any service from Fargo Woodworks. All of our forms, including our contact form, custom order request, design consultation, and checkout, can be submitted WITHOUT opting in to SMS. The SMS consent checkbox is always unchecked by default.

If you choose to opt in, you may do so in any of the following ways:

SMS opt-in is never a condition of any sale, service, quote, or other transaction with Fargo Woodworks. You can always provide your phone number for us to call or for order routing without agreeing to receive SMS, and we will respect that choice.

3.2 What We Will Text You About

  • Order confirmations and receipts
  • Production milestones (e.g., “your table has entered the wood shop”)
  • Shipping and delivery notifications
  • Design consultation reminders and scheduling
  • Invoice and payment reminders
  • Replies to customer-support questions you initiate with us

3.3 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on order activity and the nature of your inquiry. Most customers receive between 2 and 10 messages per month while they have an active order or open inquiry. Outside an active project, you will only receive messages that you specifically initiate or that you have opted in to.

3.4 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Check with your carrier for details. Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, and most other major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

3.5 Opting Out (STOP)

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message we send. After you reply STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further SMS communications from Fargo Woodworks, except in response to messages you newly initiate.

3.6 Getting Help (HELP)

For help with our SMS service, reply HELP to any message, email us at Orders@FargoWoodworks.com, or call (701) 929-6985.

3.7 No Sharing of Mobile Information for Marketing

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent information collected by Fargo Woodworks will not be shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely for direct communication between Fargo Woodworks and you regarding the services you have requested. The only third parties that receive your mobile number are our messaging service provider (Twilio) for the technical delivery of messages, and law enforcement or regulators where required by law.

3.8 SMS Service Provider

SMS messages from Fargo Woodworks are delivered via Twilio Inc., our messaging service provider. Twilio processes mobile numbers solely to deliver our messages. Twilio’s privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • Performance and analytics — help us understand how the site is used (Google Analytics 4).
  • Functional — remember your preferences (e.g., region, density settings).
  • Marketing — measure the performance of campaigns and, where you’ve opted in, deliver relevant ads.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may break parts of the site.

5. Service Providers We Share Information With

We work with a small number of vetted service providers to operate our business. We share only the information needed for them to perform their function, and they are contractually required to keep your information confidential.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, fulfill warranty obligations on custom furniture (typically the life of the piece), and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements. You may request deletion of your information at any time using the contact details below, subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to maintain industry-standard security practices.

8.2 European Residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process your personal information based on contract (to provide the services you’ve requested), consent (where you’ve opted in), legitimate interest (to operate and improve our business), and legal obligation (for tax and accounting). You may file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Visitors
