14 ft Conference Tables: Seating, Room Fit & the Full Collection

A 14 ft conference table seats 14 to 16 people: six or seven a side with a chair at each end. It is the size most rooms land on when twelve feet stopped being enough but the room still has to hold a walkway behind the chairs.

Every table below is built to your dimensions. Fourteen feet is not a fixed model. It is one point on a range that runs from 84″ to 288″ in 12″ increments, in widths from 36″ to 72″, in any of our nine species and finishes.

The collection

Any of these can be built at 14 ft. The differences are the base, the edge profile and how the top is laid up, not the size.

How many people fit at a 14 ft conference table?

Fourteen to sixteen. Allow 30″ of table edge per person. That is the width of a chair plus working room for a laptop and a notepad. At 168″ that gives you five and a half to six seats a side, so six is comfortable and seven is tight.

The ends are where it changes. A plinth or trestle base leaves the ends clear, so you gain two seats. Four corner legs take those two seats away, because nobody wants the chair with a leg in it.

A blackened steel trestle keeps the perimeter open, which is what makes the end seats usable.

What room size does a 14 ft table need?

Plan on 20′ × 22′ as a working minimum. Leave 36″ to 48″ between the table edge and the nearest wall. Thirty-six inches lets someone slide out and stand. Forty-eight lets a colleague walk behind them while they stay seated.

That clearance is usually what caps the table, not the table itself. Measure the walkway first and let it tell you the length.

What changes at this length

Past about twelve feet a solid hardwood top is laid up from multiple boards, and the grain match starts to matter. A fourteen-foot top read end to end shows every decision made at the glue-up. Seasonal movement across the width is real, and it is why the top is fastened so it can move.

Power is the other thing that changes. At fourteen feet a single center grommet does not reach. Plan two runs, or a continuous channel down the spine.

Species and finish

Every table is available across the full range: red oak, black walnut, white oak and maple, in clear, natural, black and cotton white finishes. Samples ship free before production starts, and the selection can still be refined before we build.

Common questions

How many people fit at a 14 ft conference table?

Fourteen to sixteen: six or seven a side plus one at each end. A plinth or trestle base is what makes the end seats workable.

Can I get a length between the standard sizes?

Lengths run from 84″ (7 ft) to 288″ (24 ft) in 12″ increments, in widths from 36″ to 72″. If the room needs something between those, just ask. It is built to order either way.

What room size do I need?

About 20′ × 22′, allowing 36″ to 48″ of clearance behind the chairs.
