What is a book-matched table?

A book-matched table is when we take two slabs from the same tree cut one edge off of each side and then glue them together, this is the most natural-looking way to create a larger table without having a single slab. You can find our full breakdown by clicking here

Thickness: These book-matched tables will be between 2"-2.5" thick when finished. ( This varies depending on how much material we have to remove from the slab to make it flat)

Length options available are 60", 72", 84", 96", 108", 120"

Note: that the prices between 72", 84", and 96" will be very similar, this is because we have to cut down a longer slab to make a shorter table and we have more waste that cannot be used to build dining tables.

Please reach out if you would be interested in us using the waste to build you other products such as end tables, sofa bars, coffee tables, etc.. We can give you a custom package pricing.

The width options are: 36" Wide & 42" Wide

You should expect to see around 3-5" of variation in width throughout your table.
The width listed is what we try to make the average. For example, a 42" wide table may have some points that are 40" wide and some that are 45" wide. Every table will be unique.

You can choose from the leg & base options listed above or choose to have no base if you have your own. If you would like one of our other bases that are not listed above please reach out.

You will need to attach the legs, All of the holes will be pre-drilled and you will only need a screwdriver/drill

If you live within 250 miles of Fargo ND we will deliver your table and our driver can help set it up, he will need help carrying the table.

Standard curbside shipping is free in the lower 48 states, Your table will be delivered through freight in a crate, and tables under 84" will be delivered and unloaded into your driveway. Tables 96" and longer will require you to have help unloading the table from the truck, This is because the truck drivers cannot use their lift-gate on the longer crates.

We can also offer White-glove/room-of-choice delivery for an additional fee. Please contact us for a quote if you are interested!

At Fargo Woodworks, we take great pride in each and every unique piece that we sell. The pieces that we produce are handcrafted, built with solid wood and finished by our team.

Given the handmade and hand finished nature of the products we craft, variations and imperfections in the wood should be expected and celebrated! Just as every tree is unique, so too is every piece that is handcrafted and hand finished just for you.

Every piece will have a unique grain pattern and slight color variation as a result of that unique  grain pattern.  Other characteristics of handcrafted solid wood  pieces include: open knots, visible brush strokes, micro-imperfections and textural variations in the durable, hand brushed finishes, unique distress marks, exposed screws, wood filler marks, joint lines, and distinctive nicks, splits, cracks, and other imperfections.

We allow up to approx. 1" of variation across all measurements due to the custom nature of the handcrafted items we build.

Those who do not appreciate the beauty of these variations and imperfections should not purchase handcrafted pieces.  Solid wood may expand and contract due to changes in temperature and humidity. This means that the gaps between the boards of a traditional table top may get wider over time and need to be cleaned. This natural movement enhances the one of a kind beauty of handcrafted solid wood pieces. It does not affect structural integrity and is not considered defective. For customers that prefer to never have gaps between their table top boards, we recommend choosing our jointed top option, which eliminates cracks and spaces between the boards in the table tops. Jointed tops expand and contract as a whole. You will still see the beautiful and natural open knots on jointed table tops. We do not offer machine-manufactured perfection - no two pieces are exactly alike since your item is crafted to your order specifications. We celebrate the true uniqueness of every piece of solid wood  that is built and finished by hand in our wood shop.
